Air Fryer Christmas Cookies

These air fryer Christmas cookies are the perfect festive treat when you want something homemade, comforting, and quick. Soft and chewy in the centre with lightly golden edges, they’re packed with chocolate chips and colourful M&M’s for a fun, festive finish. Best of all, they’re made entirely in the air fryer, so there’s no need to turn on the oven, ideal during the busy holiday season.

Step 1

Preheat the air fryer to 170°C for 3 minutes.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.

Step 4

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 5

Fold in the dry ingredients with the soft mixture until combined, and stir in your chocolate chips.

Step 6

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions, roll into balls and slightly flatten onto your baking paper in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each.

Step 7

Air fry at 170°C for 8-9 minutes, until lightly golden but still soft in the centre and the edges of the cookies are set but the centre is still slightly underdone, this will create a soft cookie. For a crispier cookie, continue baking for another minute or two.

Step 8

Press the remaining M&M’s on top while warm.

Step 9

Leave to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the air fryer (they’ll firm up as they cool).
